Thank you for the friendship. Gorgeous photographs. Saturated with color and texture. 4/61, 6/61, 40/61, 53/61 & 61/61 struck a cord. Hope to see more soon. Blessed be!

"Dabbler" extraordinaire! Nice work. I'm so glad to hear someone else collects discards that scream "art." I agree they are way to much color to simply pitch.

"Some things are learned best in calm, some in storm."--Willa Cather

Hello! My name is Aleathia Drehmer and I am an artist of sorts. I am not formally trained, but I like to capture slices of life, odd angles and nature. I am a photographer. I dabble in acrylics....really dabble, but tend to have fun with paint markers and charcoal.

Presently, I am working on several multi-media projects. One of them is of the ocean and it is made up of the tops to IV medicines that get discarded at my work. I always found it a waste to throw away such color and I had the entire ER saving them for me for about 5 months until I had enough to complete the project. They find me silly at work.

I am also working on a 365 project that started innocently with a photograph of myself as I started my new journey in life without my husband. It has ended in a grand scale art project I hope to have done by the summer.

I am in the process of going through the 20 boxes of art my daughter has made in the last 7 years and seeing how we can combine our efforts. I am trying to make new projects using her art as part of my art. We have one we are calling "Tombstones" at the moment.

I have some shadow boxes in my mind, in honor of Joseph Cornell, but I will have to wait til the summer when I can have the local Amish folk build them for me. I am also looking for wooden thread spools, so if you find some and they are free, grab them. I will pay the shipping.

I am a mother, a nurse, a writer, an editor, and a woman on the verge of something. I am the poetry editor for Full of Crow that I run with the darling Lynn Alexander and I am an editor of special editions for Tainted Coffee Press/Zygote in my Coffee.

Hello all you lovely ladies!! I have been so busy that I have not been keeping up with my page. Bad woman! Bad, bad woman! Haha. So I will try and lay it all out now.

I have two poems in the first ever issue of Hobo Camp Review which you can find at: www.hobocampreview.blogspot.com. This is a great little zine that focuses on travel and storytelling....things you would hear talking to strangers in passing on the train or around the fire. Please stop by and check them out.

Hello great friends of the small press!! At Full of Crow this week we have some great new content for you to peruse. Lynn and Aleathia decided to change the format from a content that was adding on a rolling basis to an issue format. We feel this better showcases our great writers and makes the work easier to find.

From One Woman to Another

for Sharon Olds

She is amazing,
publishing her first book
at my age when some think
no hope is seen in dark tunnels.

But her words ring,
cadence no less than a stroll
in the park, stopping or pausing
at fallen leaves and lover's blankets.

We are reminded how much hindsight
spurns us into wanting time machines
and magic wands to change hard moments,
to change history out of existence.

Sometimes, I want to slip outside myself
like that, eloquent and grand with words
falling into poems t… Continue

Upcoming Fun

Last fall the small press I worked for closed its doors and then re-opened them and it was all so confusing, but I thought that I had lost my job as a co-editor there. I found out recently that I have retained my position though with the scale back, there isn't much daily work to do. I will continue to layout and edit special books for Zygote in my Coffee/Tainted Coffee Press.

I have a small collection of poems and photographs slated to come out in June from the lovely and wonderful Kendra Stei… Continue
