Belinda Subraman

For years I produced an International Literary magazine, mostly out of Germany, called Gypsy. A few years ago I produced a few issues online at Gypsy Mag. Through Vergin' Press I produced a lot of chapbooks and a few books including VOCES FRONTERIZAS, writings based on life on the U.S./Mexican border sponsored by the El Paso Public Library as well as THE GULF WAR: MANY PERSPECTIVES, EARTH TONES, IMAGES OF JIM MORRISON and HENRY MILLER AND MY BIG SUR DAYS.

Currently I'm into poetry and musical collaborations and writing my first serious novel, or rather, seriously writing my first novel. I've written and published poetry for years. I have a new poetry book coming out soon called BLUE ROOMS, BLACK HOLES, WHITE LIGHT (with full color art plates!).

Just recently I started making tiny art movies. There are a few under the VIDEOS section of this site and links to others on the left side bar or go to Belinda's Videos on You Tube I like for these to be collaborative efforts so if you'd like to contribute art or music you'll be credited in the flick.

Also, I produce THE GYPSY ART SHOW which is an interview podcast with writers, musicians and other creators. (I've probably interviewed several people on this site). I'll put a click and play link below. You can also find it on iTunes listed as Belinda Subraman Presents.

What I don't usually tell about myself is that I'm an RN who after 6 six years of hospice work is now working in a nursing center on an Apache Indian reservation. In addition I am a part time theater tech working mostly in wardrobe. One of my last jobs was being the quick change dresser for Cheech and Chong. One of my biggest thrills last year was working a week long tech rehearsal for a new tour of Jesus Christ Superstar starring Ted Neeley, the original Broadway and movie Jesus. Kinda stranger than fiction, huh?
