Bio Bits

I live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with my husband, Don Cerrato, and our three cats. I have one son, Drew, who is entering his senior year at The Citadel in Charleston, SC.

When I'm not working on a new artwork or engaged in a project for a client, I enjoy cooking, Pilates, walking, and reading.

Work-wise

I am a freelance artist, illustrator and designer, garnering most of my work from one phase of the fashion industry or another. Despite that fact, I often find myself working across a wide range of markets for a very diverse list of clients.

Organically speaking

I like to think of my work as quirky - with a dark side - and I am always striving to push the viewer's imagination to the outer edges. Popular subjects include women's issues, human rights, globalization, communication, and the complexities of human relationships.

With such diversity in my work, I am often led to work with a variety of media. That media frequently includes the creation of digital graphics, acrylics and oils, conte crayon, oil and dry pastels, charcoal and chalk.

Press & Publications

Selections of my artwork , graphics, poetry, and short stories have appeared in various galleries and publications around the globe and across the WWW, and were most notably included in the 1999 Biennale del Arte Contemporania, held in Florence, Italy and the 1999-2001 MAC 21 International Art Exhibitions in Marbella, Spain.

Additional samples of my work can be found at EBSQ. Additional examples of my fashion-oriented designs and illustrations are currently available for download at iStockPhoto.com.

Paraquiescent

i
like a moth baby
cocoon
in the curve of your fist
and drink light
from the sweat of your palm

what's left
remains for the mirror

for the time
when the sun lies sheeted
and libra luna sleeps herself
into slow
new mooning
death

beyond mourning
beyond weight

until the dawn comes

Regression

Part One

Before I was born,
when I was as old as my mother,
I was sitting in a bar
filled with opaline smoke
and the smell of tomatoes,
ripe olives, and triple cream cheese.
Even the beer tasted like brandy.

Yes, you said,
We were in Paris.
It was always that way in Paris.

So we were in Paris.
I was as old as my mother
and I did not speak French.
You read to me from the books of Zola,
aloud, and in English.

Zola. Zola. Zola,
I said as the air became heavy.
Thick with coal dust, thick… Continue

Some Past Life

It simply was not mine.
My childhood, the simple serial
of formative years.
Some; Past life.

1. Scranton

Grandmother spent hours,
morning until noon, brushing
long platinum locks, plumb
to where I sat. Straight-
backed on sturdier
aluminum framed chair.
In her lemon-waxed kitchen;
She brushed. I sat. She spoke.
The Yiddish lines of thank you;
You're welcome, without a breath
between. Over and over.
Over the English. Over
my response. Perfect.
Yiddish. Thank you.

You're welcome.… Continue

I was married once

I was married once.
It was a home/work assignment.

A lesson.
A lab.
A study

A series of experiments
weighing the comparable viscosity
of vital

fluids
That of sweat
blood and saline

secretions

the principle export
of misty-eyed

mucosa.

Hi Haze
Greeting to you! Thanks for taking a look at my vidoe. My webcam when I did the few I have was very old. After the holidays I'm going to try to tape a few more poems and will upload those. I'm glad to see you're still uploading your art. I'm going to go take a look again now.
