Something about me

I live in northern Minnesota with my husband and our dog, Blue.
I'm a writer and a visual artist, designer by trade. I love the outdoors
and most of my art and writing reflects that.

I was raised on the edge of Boundary Waters Wilderness refuge and some
say I like trees more than people.

I recently released a book titled Healing Tree, published by Rank Stranger Press
out of North Carolina. The first printing sold out completely in two and a half weeks.
This was a surprise to me, I underestimated how much I would sell.

I'm fairly well known locally so that definately helped sales. I dedicated the
book to my two handsome sons.

I never know what to say in these things, if you want to know just ask.

destiny

days like this
when i’m left
with myself

the silence is deafening

sitting in the gray
of this lightless cave
i’ve created

i wonder
what is all this about
who do i think i am

what should i do next

colorless

everything
is in
monochromatic
shades of snow
and ice

even the sky
is white with tinges
of gray

the street is ice melt
cinnamon
and my breath is
crystal

venus is pale beige

a dream

we came under fire
and when we ducked
for cover
you were at my side

when the smoke cleared
i found you’d disappeared

i asked if anyone had seen you
and a shadowed man
opened a secret door

you stood glowing like sunshine
in a room the size of an elevator
walls paneled with pale wood
your face turned away from me

as i reached for you
you slipped behind another
hidden panel

i opened it quickly to a room
just like the one before
you stood there
in monochromatic shades of beige
your hair short

pain

pastors are keenly aware of
brokenness
the trend of this day
find it
fix it
change it

he bought my book...
he’ll be back
to fix me

it’s been with me so long...
to lose it
could be
losing myself
